Many people are posting questions about whether the Patriots are the best ever, but I haven't seen any really organize the results. I'll add up your votes tomorrow and post the results here. I'll give 10 points for a first place vote, 9 for second, and so on.

I'm a Cowboys fan, but I'd say (unhappily) that the 70s Steelers are the best team ever. However, if the Patriots win the Super Bowl this year I would move them up to 1st or 2nd. They're very good.

Here's my list (preference is giving to multiple wins). You can rate these teams or others that you like.

1 - 70s Steelers
2 - 60s Packers
3 - 90s Cowboys
4 - 80s 49ers
5 - 00s Patriots
6 - 70s Dolphins
7 - 90s Broncos
8 - 70s Cowboys (first Super Bowl)
9 - 85s Bears (most overrated)
10 - 82s Redskins (John Riggins)

I think you hit the nail on the head with that list, but you're going to get haters that will leave out certain teams, simply because of jealousy

If we are talking specific teams rather than a dynasty, there are several eras.
Most notably the pre/post Salary Cap era and the era before/after 1978. In 1978 the rules changed so that a defender can only maintain contact with a receiver within five yards of the line of scrimmage.
We should also limit it the SB champions.
You can look at America's Game where they listed their top SB teams.
If you adjust for players getting stronger and faster, the Salary Cap teams in general lose out to the pre Salary Cap teams. The NFL has become more mediocre. Does anyone really think in the Hard Cap era that the Cowboys could have added Deion in 95 given who they had on their team or the '78 Steelers could have kept 9 HOF in their prime, or that Young could have been kept as a backup to Montana. No

The list
1. '89 49ers
2. '78 Steelers (9 HOFs).
The above 2 could have gone the other way and maybe should.
I believe Montana was a superior QB to Young. Montana could hit receivers when they were running full stride. Something that Belichick noted that Young did not do nearly as well. Hence I believe the '89 49ers could beat the '92 Cowboys
3. '92 Cowboys.
4. '66 Packers
5. '85 Bears
6. '75 Steelers
7. '76 Raiders
8. '84 49ers
9. '77 Cowboys
10. '83 Raiders

The Patriots are rewriting NFL history, lets waiting until Brady and Bilachec is done. I hate MIKE DITKA with a passion. For the fact the Buddy Ryan proved to the world that defenses wins championships in the NFL. Ryan and Ditka both coached different teams after leaving the bears. Ryan by far posted a winning record by making the playoffs with the Eagles. Ditka never seen the playoffs after the 85 season. Answer #9 Ditka over rated as a coach period.

dude. you got a prety scarce list there. first of all the 2007-2008 patriots have tied the all time record for winning. 1 more game and its a milestone. 2 more wins and we take the nfl by storm. so i wanted to see what you had. be more specific. beacause, if you said 00's colts it wouldnt matter, only last superbowl would put them up there. teams change every year. the best thing you can do is be specific. at least down to superbowl winners. BUT TO ANSWER YOUR QUESTION THE NEPATS ARE #1, FOREVER. if you start a new list have mangina. up there. for the crappiest teams ever.

I'd agree with that only if your comparing them to other teams in their time period, I don't think that a team from the 60s is going to beat any good modern teams.
