Steering. Jet propulsion moves the animal forward (well, actually backwards). The fins allow the animal to turn.

squids do no longer possibly have side fins. they have tentacles, and how the circulate is via jet propulsion. it is the place water is presented in via one tube then is pushed out via the different. and their tentacles help them circulate side to side like steerage

Im guessing as rudders (or rutters idk) that they use to steer themselves when moving.
