I've lived in West Virginia, Kentucky, southern California, and now in Ohio. So I say BOTH interchangably. But I started out in West Virginia saying "pop".

I say "soda," and I'm from Houston, Texas. I've yet to hear anyone hear say "pop" to refer to the beverage--at least I don't remember any instance. I guess it's because we're close to the border, and "soda"'s a Spanish word. My family's Mexican, by the way. That might contribute.
