It's supposed to be a big thing during your senior year, but I went to mine last year, and it sucked. Our DJ was horrible and the only good thing about prom night was the restaurant that we went to before and the after party. Prom itself, I don't really recommend!!!

It's not important nor it is a bad thing, but I still recommend that you go.
This is because it is something that only happens once in your life and the memories (regardless whether good or bad) you can and will make will be something you will take with you for the years to come.
Besides you don't want to be thinking what happened and what you missed. Who knows, you might even enjoy yourself.
So go. Stay for an hour and two at least and if you still decided you want to leave afterwards then do so.
Peace. ^_^

It's a once-in-a-lifetime thing. Just go, or you'll regret it. Normally a wallflower, I got out on the dance floor and danced like a fool, cause I knew I'd never see any of those people again. And I haven't. Why not celebrate finishing that chapter in your life?

I regret going to my prom on my senior year. (I'm actually a female -->) I looked like a male-to-female transsexual on estrogen hormone injections in that dress, I ended up getting really depressed, crying and getting so furious I wanted to consume the soul of the person who caused it, and it was pretty boring anyway. o.O"

There's a certain girl who would have a life-time memory to cherish if you bought her a nice corsage and escorted her to the prom and you'll have a real nice memory, too.

Most people get excited to go but then they go to it and get disapointed because it wasnt as good as they thought it would be. If you go to a prom, bring a really good date.

Prom is shallow and tiresome. Do what I did: have an Anti-Prom. It's free, fun, and you don't have to dress up.
