my 12 year old son has very dry skin especially in winter.ive tried johnsons he came out all blotchy (maybe the perfume not sure?), E45 was fine on his body but way too greasy for his face.(he was very very shiny!!lol)

And also, when I put lotion on him after bathing its so cold and he almost gets goosebumps because its so cold. How can I make it a little warmer?

I don't bathe him myself, he does that. I still do his skin, until he hits puberty, that will be my job.
He has no problems with it.

1] buy an unscented, hypoallergenic moisturizer like Aveeno or Curel
2] put the lotion bottle in the tub/shower with him - it will warm up so he won't get goosebumps!
[ did this for my kids when they were babies ]
3] rub lotion on hands first to warm it up a bit

Dove has some great skin lotions that moisturize. Just put some in the palm of your hand and rub hands together for a few seconds, that will warm the lotion enough that your son will be able to tolerate. Thats what nurses do in hospitals when giving a patient a back rub.

best lotion for sensitive skin: Neutrogena oil free sensitive moisturizer (about $10 at wal-mart)

Get a baby bottle warmer and put it in the bathroom and then 'warm up' the lotion. Your son is 12, and unless he has a pervasive developmental disorder of some kind, needs to be bathing himself and lotioning on his own. Being blunt is also not a bad thing "Son, does it make you feel 'weird' when I lotion you?" or "Son, you're getting to an age where you need to start taking executive control over your own hygine"

That's sweet you care so much about your son's skin! I would recommend Almay moisturizer, and for night time Noxzema skin cream with added moisturizers (in the little navy blue tub) works great! Also if you are willing to spend the extra money try Clinique or Murad, they are both great too!

Use a hairdryer and warm up the moisturizer in your hands a bit, this should help warm it up a lot!

Jergen's is a good brand. I'm currently using Johnson's softlotion 24 hour mosturizer because it's winter. Works pretty well I have to say.
To make him warmer after a bath, you could get a heater installed in the bathroom. Mine is on the ceiling- you install it so you just flip a switch and it comes on.

Nutone is a pretty good brand for that. While you can get them online, they do sell them at Home Depot and stores of that ilk.

try Aveeno products they are made with oatmeal. To warm it up why don't you float it in the bath so when he's done it will have warmed up a little or just keep it in the shower.
