Filial Generation which is the first generation of offspring. F2 is the second generation of offspring.

F1 generation stands for "first filial generation". These are the offspring from crossing the parents.

F2 generation stands for "second filial generation". These are the offspring from letting the F1 individuals cross.

Filial refers to "sons", so it's the kids.
