Where I am, in Little Rock, Arkansas, I have about 700 sg. feet, maybe a little more, on the Riverfront, South Bank. I've been here 12 years. It's very convenient to downtown, & all the things I need to do. The River is about 30 seconds from my door. The crime rate is worse than it used to be when I first moved in. It isn't safe to walk alone anymore, much less swim at night like I used to do. There has been armed robberies, rape, neighbors who don't know the meaning of sleeping at night, peeping Toms that the management didn't warn us about even though they knew of the problem, my gas tank has been drained several times, & all the work crews who work on the property don't speak English & make a habit of walking into unlocked apartments - especially if it is the apartment of a woman living alone. We have been targeted in years past by criminals who look for the most vulnerable, namely single women who live alone. Those of us who think, have managed to get dogs big enough & loud enough to fend off most but the most determined criminal. I don't know what it is like in Brooklyn. But, here in Little Rock, $1,300.00 a month would get you twice what I have here. Good Luck & Blessings to you!

Housing prices vary all over the country (and there are reasons for it). That would be an unheard of cheap price in Tokyo, and an unheard of absurdly high price in Biloxi.
Look for a safe neighborhood & only listen to answers from Brooklyn.

sq feet is a measure of area (two dimensional) and gallon is a measure of volume (three dimensional). You can not convert from area to volume. If you meant 1100 cubic feet, then the answer is 8228.571 gallons.

I cannot even imagine living in something so small for that much money, but NY is expensive. We live in a 4500 square foot house in a suburb of Chicago and pay 1600.00 on our mortgage
