Are you telling me that everytime you have heard the National Anthem you have had your hand over your heart?
What you are referencing is one picture, where Obama does not have his hand over his heart while other candidates in the picture do. The problem is no one seems to know at what point this picture was taken. Was it the end of the national anthem? No one seems to know. The Obama campaign stated that "sometimes he does place his hand over his heart, sometimes he doesn't"
According to the National Anthem Code the proper etiquitte is to face the flag and stand at a respectful attention, if a flag is not visible then one is to face the music and stand at a respectful attention. There is no etiquitte for one to place there hand over there heart.
Here are a couple pics of Obama placing his hand over his heart.

Originaly one was to place one's hand over their heart during the national anthem. I do not know if this was by "decree" or just tradition. Most will be too young to remember this when we first started using the Star Spangled Banner as our national anthem people would rise their right arms out simular to the salute that the Nazis used. This was changed to the hand over the heart because we did not want to be doing an action that was so synonimous with the evil Nazi dictatorship. Do I place my hand over my heart, yes but by personal choice.

Why do you care where his hand(s) are when he's singing the National Anthem ? Is there some sort of rule regulating hand placement for that particular song ? When it's cold outdoors, I don't remove my hat for the National Anthem. Does that make me less of an American ? (I get earaches easily from the cold, and I'm not going to risk one of those just to 'look' patriotic to clowns like your ilk.)

I see what you mean.
I would much rather vote for the man who made 30 million lobbying the US government for a convicted criminal so he could spy for the NSA.
or how about the man who is publicly against Illegal Immigration but was busted twice having illegals working on his lawn.
Maybe I will vote for the guys who wants to set up a flat tax that will make an even bigger hole in our budget and will cost the middle class than the current system.
Obama is not the candidate I am working for, but that doesn't mean I like hearing this kind of crap about a man who is running for president because he has a vision for the future and not to make his buddies richer.
Vote for Edwards but not because of this kind of drivel spouted by this question but because of his platform and commitment to the lower and middle class of the United States.

You are sick. We know who you are talking about, and the man is more a patriot of the Constitution of the United States than any candidate running in the current Presidential Election.

Anytime a American want put his hand on his heart for our National Anthem will never win the Presidential election. I am a Democrat all the way , if he is chosen for the nomination I will never vote Republican and I will never vote for him, well anyway I just want vote at all.

Reasons include:
a) The american voters are dumb, as they voted for george bush, twice.
b) The obama are supporters are mostly young people, whose minds are yet to mature, and they like things fresh and new (except maybe dog poopoo).

Oh , they are great and much evolved species ! What are nations, Flags or lapel pins to them ? This is only pre - elections time. Once elected, MAJOR CHANGES shall take place.
Poor Gorbachev he tried to usher in 'Perestroika' and 'Glasnost' to his own peril, though it ended the cold war.
US is not USSR.

Did you look at the photo showing Bush with his hand on his belly, instead of his heart, while the others around him have their hands on their heart?
