Yes, Yes and Yes.
You don't even want to know how many I take.
My husband tells me not to fill up on pills and ruin my dinner. lol.
I have:
Peripheral Neuropathy = no feeling in legs, hands and arms = pain full burning and prickling of nerves.
Diabetes = bad blood circulation, mostly in legs and hands.
Degenerative Disk Disease of the spine.
Osteoarthritis.
loss of vision, left eye = mini stroke.
Atrophied muscles in right arm.
Unable to walk on my own.
I am home bound
This is very unusual for me to talk about my health.
This will be the only time I will ever mention it again on answers.
I really don't have a right to complain. I have my brain and I can communicate well and I love life.
I have everything I need, a wonderful loving family, I love my home and I love to be home.
I have had the love of my life for over 50 wonderful years and he is my kind and caring caregiver.
I thank God everyday for all the blessings I have received throughout my life.
Actually, I guess if I'm honest, I should say that I'm a little spoiled.

I take Guaifenesin daily for my Fibromyalgia, Lopressor for a little high blood pressure and sleep meds. I often take Ibuprophen when my Fibro is in a flare but thats not bad. There was a time when I was taking pain meds everday every 6 hrs due to Fibro and on some days having to take a muscle relaxor on top of the pain meds. I have not had to do this for the last 5+ yrs thanks to the Guaifenesin. I'm not doing too bad for 53 yrs old.

Yes I'm caught in the middle of a vicious circle with meds. The pain killer that really works with my knee is Naproxen, but it sends my blood pressure sky high, so I have to take pills to bring it back down. Hopefully once I have this knee replacement OP I will stop the Naproxen then in turn I will be able to stop the blood pressure pills.

Baysa - getting old is bad enough - talking about it is worse!
Now we are talking meds. What next.? Yes I take meds - protonix for GERD (high powered nexium), BP pills, Lipitor, Albuterol med for my breathing machine. Am on oxygen 24/7 and I have glaucoma and use eye drops every night. Also have fibromyalgia and take meds for that too. My arthritis requires great quantities of Tylenol arthritis strength - and now I am so depressed talking about all of this stuff - I think I will just go and shoot myself! (Just kidding)! I just thank G-d that I have great insurance. CJ

Ugh, do I ever! I can't remember the names, so I'll just tell you
what they're for. I take insulin, two kinds and four times a day
all total. Then I take a cholesterol reducer, one half pill at
bedtime. And I take a water pill morning and evening. A
heart strengthening pill to strengthen the blood vessels in my
heart for an over enlarged heart,& Congestive Heart Failure as well. I take a pill for high blood pressure, one for anxiety, and an antihystamine, calcium, two multi vitamins for vitamin D, and two vitamin C. And Magnesium which women need after 50 (besides the calcium). And an aspirin to help prevent blood clots. I take about 12 pills in the morning all total. And in the evening, I take another 7 pills.
I also am on oxygen during the day and much of the evening. And I use inhalers for my asthma, and also for the
Congestive Heart Failure to help obstructions. I also use a
nasal spray to help my chronic allergies. I use eye drops three times a day to help my eyes with Glaucoma for which I've had surgery. And I take one last drop for my cataracts at bedtime. You should see my medicine cupboard. Woa! It even amazes me at times.
Years ago, I used to look at the line up of meds my late MIL
had along the top of her fridge. And one day I asked her
what each of them was for. I can't remember now, but later
we found that the majority were sugar pills, since she was a
hypochondriac. Later she did develop Epilepsy that she did take a legitimate pill for. She would have to go in hospitals from time to time, just to be dried out from too many
overdoses of headache meds. She'd take her allotment like
she was eating candy it seemed. And then she'd go to the
ER and complain about migranes, and get a shot of pain
killers. She was addicted to them all.
My daughter is in denial about my needing the pills I have
to take. And she always compares me to her late grandmother. As I've told her, I wish I only pretended to have
these ailments. So I could just stop pretending and get on
with life. For I still feel I have alot of living to do. And time is
going by too fast. With my over enlarged heart and the dis-
ease, I'm living a shortened future now. And I could go like my
dad, in a split second. But I can't dwell on that, and keep my
sanity. And I keep my sense of humor too, despite all. Life
is short enough, without feeling low down about how long
you're going to live. Don't you think?

Omeprozole (gen for Prilosec) for G.E.R.D.,Lipitor to maintain an already low (150) cholesterol, Propanalol (gen for Lorazepam) for head tremors, Naproxen (anti-inflammatory).
A fist full of vitamins daily (B's, C, E, Flaxseed Oil) but I simply just cannot do without the Glucosamine/Choindroitin tabs that helps me maintain felexibility in my joints and keeps my back from killing me.
I'd be depressed by all of this keeps me feeling fit and whole and living a good life. So what the hell.
