I really don't think science can provide any evidence either way. No verifiable evidence to support the possibility and none to support the impossibility of life after death either. As for proof, which is a different thing than evidence, there is certainly none.

It all boils down to faith.

There are of course, all kinds of anecodtes of sceances, near death experiences, and so forth, but they cannot be validated either way.

There are two kinds of evidence for this.

1) Near-death experiences. Science mostly rejects these as credible evidence, since our understanding of how the brain works is so poor that we cannot predict what natural effects the brain would experience under these circumstances, so we can't filter out what is simply chemistry and what is real spirituality. Nevertheless accounts of near-death experiences abound and many people take them to be evidence of life after death.

2) 21 Grams. At the moment of death, the body of a dying person loses 21 grams of mass. No one knows why. No one knows how it is even possible for a body to spontaneously get lighter, nor do they know where this mass goes or even where it was stored in the body before death. Though there is no way we can be certain one way or another, many believe that this represents the "soul" of a person leaving the body at the time of death. If this is the case then there is an implication that the soul must be going somewhere... though this does not necessarily follow. It is possible that the soul is simply dissolving into the ether; we have no way of testing either theory. As far as science is concerned this is merely an unsolved mystery.

We have to look at the grand scale of things in order to understand what there might be after we transpire from one form of existence, into the next.

All we are really, are globs of energy in material form. An analogy of this is, if you look out at the ocean and suddenly see what appears to be a periscope pop out from beneath the waves, then moments later, it vanishes again, does that mean that submarine no longer exists?.........no.

In actuality, we live in a vast ocean of energy, that which we can see (material), and that which is beyond detection of human eyes (molecular). So, in our minds, when someone passes on, we fail to look beyond what we've been conditioned to believe, that they're no longer here, but that has nothing to do with what even allowed them to get up and move around. That which has been here forever........Pure Energy.

There is none, this is a question that is the same as asking what is the meaning of life. Some say you'll go to heaven or hell, be reincarnated, or that there's no afterlife at all, this is a question that will never have legitimate proof or evidence.

Here we are again my science friends, debating about something we know is real but yet the established scientific approach can't prove.

Remember must of technology greatest achievements came out of inspiration. Science is just a tool to realize an idea.

Like author Arthur Clarke used to say: "...reality as always will be more extraordinary than science-fiction."

None. Just hypotheses and conjecture.

There is no proof that the Bible is the word of God. It could be, but there is no proof. It is an element of faith (belief without proof).

Just about every culture in recorded history had some belief that "something" continued after death. However, this could be simply wishful thinking.

there is no scientific proof that there is life after death. trying to prove something that is mainly faith based with science is just illogical. im not saying there isnt life after death, i think we all hope that there is, but its just foolish to try and prove it.

ADDED LATER: the bible is hardly considered proof. again, im not saying its not true (everyone is entitled to their belief), but to use it as scientific proof, or any proof for that matter, isnt really a great idea.

There is no physical evidence at all of life after death.

All the people who came back from the grave and told all the stories how it was "up" there.

Oh, right... there aren't any! Such a shame... there is no evidence.

Well psychics say they can talk to dead people. Isn't that the best proof?
