Whatever the form or method of leaving a mark, what matters most is the meaning you have left to it. The message of such an imprint is the most essential. It will leave a mark of evidence that such event happened.
Thanks for asking. Have a great day!

Depends On Your Personality, If You Want Your Persona Finalized Permantly So That Your Indention Relic Remains To Serve A Memory, Concrete Ground Would Be A Likely Solution. If You're A Carefree Spirit, Who Leaves No Evidential Memoirs, You Might Opt To Leave Footprints In The Sand, Nature Of Wind And Water To Wash Them Away Into The Sea.
Ever Heard Of The 'Walk Of Fame' In Hollywood? Movie Stars Names, Signatures, Interests Are Inscribed On A Sketch Of Street.
Personally, I Do Both. I'm Both Carefree And Wise, And I Leave My Fingerprints As Well As Footprints Wherever I Go.

As I see the metaphor...
Footprints in the sand are the fleeting moments that fade from memory, and may be delightful in the very present. We need to learn to have contentment in such moments for ourselves.
EMBEDDING on concrete ground is to create an impression for the future that has an effect on others who pass by the site of the ground. Everyone leaves a footprint in concrete somewhere, though not everyone has the qualities or opportunity to leave such a footprint where it will be widely noticed. We need to be content with whatever lasting impact our individuality brings to the ground we walk, and without berating ourselves if the imprints are not how we envisioned the mold should appear.
Of course, there is always the possibility of obtaining a pick-ax or jackhammer to demolish hardened concrete. Then a footprint embedded in concrete might become a footprint in the sand. =)

Why settle for dust and rock? I’d rather go softer: I’ll leave footprints on a Heart. A heart endures.
But yes, I sometimes long for the comfort of concrete; to compose the embracing words that pull others into my self, and release them with new wings. It is natural for us, poor Servants of Death, to rail against our chains. Even as the Siren Song lures us to the cliff, we reach out, flailing to carve our names upon the stone. Perhaps it eases the fear of passing, to know that we are marked by more than the transience of flesh and bone. Still, any child will draw in concrete; any child will build a castle in the sand. Our souls beg to be seen.
I wonder sometimes, what would happen if we could stop watching the ground behind us, if we could stop planning our next steps. I think we would learn to fly... :-)

Footprints in the sand will do me. Then the tide can wash them away, and our beloved Earth can go on unmarked. The only marks I would leave behind are in the memories of those I love, and in how I've influenced my world - and I can only hope they are for good more than harm! So the more others can proceed with what they select, the better.

All is vanity so does it matter if sand or concrete is where our footprint is marked?
All of King Solomon's riches and works ....where are they? He used hard rock to leave his footprints and all we have are the history of his existence.
So does it really matter where our footprints are made? In the end even the concrete steps will fade away to nothing as does the sandprints.

Depends on necessity and opportunity. When there's a chance or something to be done with available concrete ground, no one restrict, then why not to put our footprint on it? Anyway, we all know that there is nothing permanent. Since putting our footprints in sand takes fewer effort, we should be contented with it for most cases to simplify our life.

I would much rather walk with one foot on concrete ground and the other in the sand.
I hope to somehow leave my footprint embedded in concrete if that means that I have been able to change the life of even one person in the world.
As for my imprint in the sand I will keep the memories each step has given me and I will cherish it as it has made my life differently unique.
Then I'll step back and watch the big ocean of existence eventually wash them away, hoping that no matter where I have stepped, at least I have made a difference.

We will never be content with leaving footprints in the sand, or if we embed them on a concrete ground because these footprints are not permanent.
Thus, we will never be fully content with something because nothing is permanent; things are always changing. Therefore, the meaning that is attached with these footprints will change.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm
It all depends on the person as for me leaving footprint on some one heart & soul is more imp then leaving foot print on sand or concrete ground.
As foot print on heart & soul will make that person remember me with a smile when i am gone from this world but the footprint on sand will be washed out by sea & that on concrete will stay but who has the time to go & see or read it?
GOOD DAY
