Yes they can, it may take longer to cut through the red tape if you live in another state, but it doesn't matter, eventually they will get to you.

Yes. There is a national reporting center that keeps up with this stuff now. If you owe you have to pay sooner or later. Because of the dead beat dad issue, laws and penalities have become stiffer for people who don't pay child support. Wages and income tax money can be garnished automatically. In the united states, if you apply for a job and get hired, the business is required by law to submit your ss# so that it can be checked against childsupport orders, no matter what state you live in. Also your drivers license and any other professional license you have will be suspended until payments are satisfied. Say you work under the table, all cash and you find away to manipulate the system, in the end it will still come back on you. The state can come after any property, lottery winnings, settlements, and even your inheritance if someone dies and leaves you something. It's a big deal and it's better to try to pay the support than to get caught up in back pay and a whole bunch of legal troubles. Just my thoughts.

You can run but you cant hide, the only real difference is that in some states depending where you are hiding, can also impose there support laws on you as well as the state your children reside in, and some of the laws pertain to not only non support, but the big one child abandonment which does carry jail time, and not in one of the wimpy *** local jail things either, so its either take it like a man and face the music, or you may find yourself singing moon river, and feel like your doing the seen from the movie Deliverance

The creditor probable can not garnish (altho they are going to attempt!). In ND you could basically be garnished as much as twenty-5% of your income (truly different for ppl making $12,000 WEEKLY). This share would not stick to to new child help, yet bc you're already being garnished extra desirable than 25% (i assume) for new child help then the creditor can not upload to that bc it could exceed 25%.

Yes. Definitely. Doesn't matter where in the U.S. that either of the parents live... Your wages can definitely be garnished.

Absolutely. My best-friend just had her ex-husband's wages garnished for child support. She lives in Virginia, he lives in Florida.

Yes. And in many states they are aggressive in getting the monies to the child/children promptly. Penalties vary from state to state also. Get a lawyer to help you.
