I'm worried about my friend. We are both 11 year old girls and she buys lunch everday. Everytime she sits at our lunch table she only has an oval shapped peanut butter and jelly sandwich the school offeres and chocolate milk. She has no side dished or snacks.

Should i be worried?

help?

Don't worry, You don't got it rough she probably has a small appetite. It also depends if she eats the whole thing or just a bite, my friend was like this. Not to worry. If its more of a big thing like her mom doesn't feed her talk to her,or your mom, a teacher or someone your comforable with .

Talk to her, befriend her...you kind of lost me cause you said she buys lunch everyday but then you said she only eats a oval peanut butter and jelly sandwich??? If she is only bringing a sandwich then you should ask her if that's all she likes. Offer her some of your food, if she takes it then there may be a bigger problem. A lot of people go through financial problems and many children in the US don't have food. Be a friend and go with your instinct. There is probably a problem at home with money. If you see things going in the direction that there is a problem at home talk to a teacher or a counselor at school. They can get her and her family the help they need.

Nope. If you feel like it's too little for her, you carefully and sensitively approach her on this subject. You can notice if she has a problem by seeing if she enjoys it. You should worry when she seems to have real problems with eating.
Nobody really likes to be accused of having a problem that they don't have, so be careful not to hurt her.
I personally don't think that it's something to worry about, but if you feel worried you should tell someone you think you can thrust with this subject. Like a school counselor.

umm... no? it depends on the size of the sandwich. But in my opinion, it's not such a terrible thing to eat a small lunch. Now if she turns around and throws up her sandwich, then you should be worried. Otherwise, don't stress, she's fine.

school food is normally disgusting i've noticed over the years. if the pattern continues w/ everything she eats then i'd start to get worried. but i used to get only the stuff i knew was safe to eat at school...it's not that big a deal

I don't think you should really be worried about that kind of stuff at your age..like eating disorders if your like 11. She probably just has a small appitite.

Worried of what. Mind your own business. Maybe shes on a diet or maybe she's short on money. She knows better herself. She would get a snack if she really wanted to. If you want ask her one time, but don't bug her about it. She might also eat when she gets home from school. You never know until you ask her.

she might just have a small appetite since you're both so young, but you could ask her if she eats fruits and vegetables lol. try to bring it up casually though, maybe when you're both eating lunch.
