According to a news article, she lied about getting demoted at the school. To me , this sounds like a deliberate attempt to get the publics sympathy and get Mark Burnette to throw 50 grand her way. After reading this article I really lost respect for her.

Well, according to another article, Denise admitted that she had took a promotion as janitor and apologized if she misled anyone , so she would donate the money.

Like one person commented that it was a game, but I say it was different because when she lied, the game was over, so that is why I wanted others to comment.

I think Courtney is right that Denise is a failure in life.

Instead of feeling sorry for herself, why doesn't she attempt to get a better paying job? She played the wealthfare card throughout the game and her tearjerking plea at the end of the end were fingernails on chalkboard.

She also kept implying throughout the show that being 40 is old and this opportunity was her last. Gimme a break.

Unless she had some terminal disease or was disabled, I don't understand her plea for sympathy and I don't understand why anyone would give her $50K. She's a loser.

I read a forum post from someone in Douglas which disputes this report: I'm not sure if this is true, but I saw acomment from someone claiming to be
from Douglas on the following site:

In it, she backs up Denise's claim.

Right now, there is a lot of negativity towards Denise, so she really needs to write a statement about the full details.

Interesting but not all that surprising that the Superintendent would come out with this sort of statement againist Denise.

The website *Hollywood Insider*? Why did she (the Super) not go to a more credible news site such as CNN or even their local CBS station and drop this *bomb* that Denise was lying? (not saying that any news source is 100% credible, but I do have a little more faith in a CNN over a Hollywood Insider news site)

My mother worked for a school district for 25 years...and I can tell you with 100% certainty that there are things going on behind the scenes with this situation that are in NO way SHAPE or FORM Denise Martins fault.....

I back Denise and her ethics, character and values 100%.

people lie all the time even if it isnt worth 50 grand. i think lying is a low thing to do but it is naive to think that people are basically good hearted and dont lie cheat or steal. i would challenge you to find someone who is honest all the time, because everyone does it.
