I am trying to help a friend who has a Remote Start on A '96 Buick Skylark. The did not have it installed, it was on when they bought it so there is no book. We just need to know what buttons we are supposed to be pushing to get it to work. There is a button the the remote that say 'OPTION' but i don't know what it is used for at all.

Hi. 1st of all have you tried looking up the Manuel on line? It should have something about it if you can get the manufacture info aand model #.
2nd thing is that the remote start I had need to have the 3rd button pushed 3 times in order for it 2 start remotely. The option button was for my auto window roll down, and or trunk release.
Hope this helps.

would be helpful to know what remote starter you are using.

Generally options are used for trunks or rear defrosts. try pressing the lock button twice.
