Salt should be closer to 1 teaspoon per gallon. marine salt is preferred to aquarium salt because it has more of the minerals the crabs need to harden their exoskeletons and it raises the pH a little for them. The sea salt will have the iodine and calcium in it, so you'll be adding this every time you do a water change.

Leave the molt in the tank - the crabs may actually eat it as a way of recycling the minerals used to make it. Only take it out if they haven't eaten it after a few days.

Guppies are livebearing fish, and the females are often pregnant when you buy them. They can give birth about every 28 days.
