it seems that way, because it is that way. Country songs used to tell a story, and country singers actually had voices that were unique. Now everyone sounds exactly the same, doesn't matter to nashville if they sound good or not, just as long as they can make a bunch of "sheep" follow the new trend. All it takes to make it now is a cute haircut and tight clothes...its sad.

What's so funny is people ten years from now will be posting how the music of today was some of the best stuff made yada yada...
I've been a fan since the 1970s and country music has always had some sort of group that leaned to the pop side... Some of today's artists are more fluff that actual artists, but I will say that there are artists today coming out that are better than some of the fluff stars 15 years ago.
But some get Nostalgic and love music from a time back in the not so distant past.. that's why Sirius has a 80s-90s country channel for (however it seems to play the same songs from that era I'm burnt out on).
Each I think is different in that respect.... Actually a lot of the 1980s artists (and the songs from the 1980s can be played on today's country and no one would even know... Restless Heart is one group in that category)
But truthfully, I don't like fluff... but am a fan of country from the 1940s till the newest country
Sorry if our opinions don't match

In the mid 90's there seemed to be a "rebirth" of country music. This period brought about a new breed of country entertainer. This entertainer was a "glamor shots" singer.Their songs were country but the tempo and music it's self seemed to mimic the "pop" and "soft rock" sounds of the 60's and 70's.
The Pure C;asic country sounds were set aside for this upbeat form of country.
Make mine classic country.

I agree it is not what is use to be - some ot the new songs and singers is not worthy of some of the golden country legends such as Conway and Jim Reeves to name only two lol and there is others that was even better than them , some songs nowadays sounds like a cross between hip hop and wrap but it's called country

Anybody remember when Johnny Cash and his guitarist, Luther Perkins, used to record songs with nothing more than Johnny's voice and Luther's guitar picking? Now, that's REAL country music!

country music is actually going down in popularity...more and more teens are being persuaded to listen to rap music...ugh!...country music is a great genre and kids who think they are really cool think that country is the worst music ever...well rap music isnt music at all...its just b***s***....at least thats my opinion...i see it everyday at school...more and more people listen to that s**t and dont realize that its not going to make them any cooler...except in their own minds...its really sad too...country music artists have the biggest hearts and all their songs have a meaning that is valuable in life...

I agree with you. Country music isn't what it used to be. There are very few songs on country radio that I will listen to anymore. They aren't any good at all. Good luck. 2D
