Out here we have these great signs that say “Speed Enforced by Aircraft”. I always picture F16s screaming out of nowhere to open fire on Californians in BMWs.
Anyhow… I never speed around town. Too dangerous with the peds, bikes, intersections, driveways, coyotes, F16s, etc… and the time you might gain is measured in mere seconds anyway, so what’s the point? But I confess I do exceed the limit on the open highway on road trips, as long as weather, visibility, road conditions and traffic cooperate.
I feel the need to point out I haven't had a moving violation or collision in 18 years. Knock on wood. And Yahoo violations don't count =).
Uhm… excuse me a second… I’ve gotta shake off this F16…

I once read a report about driving habits that said drivers consistently drive about five miles above what they think is a safe speed. Drivers will disregard posted speed limits and drive at a speed which they think is safe for the conditions. For example, a stretch of road might be designated 65 miles per hour, but if mud and dirt have washed across the road, all drivers will reduce their speed. Stick with the speed limit. Given the current costs of gasoline, I think other drivers will eventually get the message.

Usually about 10 mph, Just above the speed limit. If it's in a school safety zone...I drive under the speed limit.

Like the country song that sings, "It's Five Oclock Somehwere". I am sure there is a speed limit sign posted somewhere for the speed I am driving at the moment.

Yes. You need to make sure I have enough time to stop if someone would stop short ahead of you. I have my son in the car with me most of the time. So I make sure I drive the speed limit.

I usually go with the flow of traffic... in town I mostly follow the speed limit... on the freeway or open country roads, I may go over occasionally... I've definitely slowed down as I age...
As Rain Man says: "I'm an excellent driver..."

Here in Oklahoma, speed limits are more like guide lines. Just watch yourself around the Sooper Troopers and their Camaro's

Not usually. Of course I live out in the country, so there aint hardly any cars around anyway. Usually drive slower ii the winter with snow and ice on the ground.

I really try to drive strictly the speed limit.
I used to have a vehicle with speed control, and that made it much easier.
