I live in MD too, but that info is best gotten from the source, http://www.buddscreek.com/ and if you can't find the info there then simply give them a call. Like the guys above said the cost to enter a race isn't much, but you may need a AMA membership or something similar. The biggest cost is the bike/equipment and transportation to the track. Don't forget about the ATV park just a couple miles from Budds Creek, good place to ride your dirt bike if that's all you really are looking for.

Well you didn't give many details. Do you mean just to enter an amateur event at Budds Creek, or are you asking what it costs to start from scratch? Most amateur races are around $20 - $25 for the entry fee plus AMA membership if you're not already a member. If you mean what does it cost to buy a bike, gear, etc. then that depends a lot on what class and how new of a bike you want. You really need to be more specific if you want answers.

will you be racing the pro class?
will you be riding the amature class?
it all depends on who is putting on the event..... entry fees vary from race to race.....
now to get started in racing, like you never done it before, I would not do it until I was used to the bike, and had a lot of track time....
once I felt comfy riding at a higher than normal pace. I would then race...
but remember that this is not a cheap sport. you will have to pay for gas, bike supplies, lunch...etc...
then you will have to pay a gate fee, entry fee, club fee.....etc....
good luck, and once yu start racing, you will be addicted!!!!
