I have someone who will take one in, but I'd rather if that wasn't necessary! Can I possibly get them to be okay with one another? (I've separated them for now)

No, you can't keep two males together EVER. They will continue to fight.

two males should not be kept together for that reason. sometimes if the tank is big enough, they may get along, but usually they get territorial over food, etc. The tail will grow back, but since it is a source of fat reserves, make sure your leopard gecko eats very well.

Keep them eperated of course! Why even question? There is no way for them to "get along". They are all about instinct, and their instinct tells them that there is a rival male in their tank.

They need to be separated if you don't have anyway to separate them please give it to the person who is willing to take him in.
