lags in science education?

The rest of the world has no desire to teach retro science instead of the real thing.

OK Uncle Benito; State the proof for creationism.

2007-12-17 14:00:33 · update #1

Yeah sure - lazy and it's the liberals fault. Typical. Look at the garbage you promote as equal to science why don't you?

To Uncle Benito; You weaseled out and didn't provide any proof... Why not? OK, I'll humor you.

Read this; http://www.koshland-science-museum.org/exhibitgcc/intro01.jsp

Really read it. Then give me your proof for creationism. No weaseling out this time though and say you don't believe my link.

Jeff L; I think you win the prize for most errors in your response.

Uncle Benito; You weaseled twice. No more chances for you.

2007-12-17 14:17:42 · update #5

Uncle Benito; I gave you facts supporting anthropogenic global warming - not proof. Many facts. Give me one fact supporting creationism.

Just one. Or will you weasel out again?

You are under the misapprehension that they WANT Americans to have any Scientific understanding at all. The whole point of teaching Creationism is to drive a destructive wedge into everything positive about our civilization, Knowledge, Freedom, Democracy, even leisure, sex and any other sort of fun.

They do not actually care what is taught, they only wish to destroy our current civilization, and perhaps murder a very large percentage of the population along the way. If you think this sounds weird, I will leave links to prove all of it.

It is part of a pathology that is well studied called RWA/SDO. They imagine a simple "Idyllic" feudal type society of some imaginary early Europe with themselves at the theocratic head.

Pol Pot had amazingly similar ideas, but they would apply them to 50 times as many people, making all other holocausts pale by comparison

Science is fed by skepticism and doubt. By testing and retesting hypotheses, etc. And mostly by questioning conventional wisdom. ALL advances were made by people who questioned the "known facts". Whether you believe in creationism or not, or whether you believe in anthropomorphic global warming or not, the advances will come from those attempting to prove them right or wrong, not from forcing one viewpoint or the other down the throats of our kids.

If you really want to know why we're lagging in science it is:

1. A lack of solid math skills. Let's face it, in math the answer is right or wrong. Self esteem has NO place in math.
2. A believe that the text book is always right and who needs to experiment. This is a death knell for science.

The rest of the world may not teach "retro science" as you say but they were able to look at the precursor species and decide that the path that evolution had been preaching was wrong. Thank Goodness someone is willing to do some actual science rather than rant about what the correct theory is without any proof.

woman I knew substitute right into a YEC. She easily had a chemistry degree, of course evolutionary biology and chemistry at graduate point do not go paths, so i will excuse her for that. approximately ten years in the past she went off to Bangladesh to transform the heathens to the AoG. I reported that she ought to fulfill some resistance as a brilliant number of the inhabitants there have been Muslims and in concept a minimum of the God of the AoG is the comparable as that of Islam. She did not comprehend that. some human beings on those pages ask your self why others think of creationists are stupid or ignorant. I had residing data in front of me.

Uncle Benito made a good point, there is as much proof for creationism as for the big bang theory or man made global warming. Which is to say, not much evidence at all for any of them, You just happen to declare anything stated that supports man made global warming is evidence when it is in fact nothing but theory. This is like a christian claiming that each reference in the bible to creation is in fact a seperate peice of "evidence" and you would laugh at such a suggestion. Personally, I have thought on the theory of evolution and the big bang, and also creationism, and I find that if you follow evolution and the big bang theory in logical steps from current times all the way back the innevitable result is the same as creationism, as SOMETHING, some magical something, had to light that magnificent powderkeg of life.

I have worked with science classes in both HS and college (Ivy League). The main thing that holds students back is lack of math skills. Not the I agree with teaching mythology as science, I don't think that is the real reason we are lagging.

Uncle Benito, you nailed it... Dizz seems to be putting the global warming religion over holding it to the burden of scientific proof.

I don't want to the teach creationism --- i want to teach the "facts" and only the facts about evolution and if there are other legitimate "scientific" theories --- show me the facts

I don't believe that there is much evidence of a man-made effect on global warming therefore I don't feel compelled to give up my freedom, sovereignty and bank account --- show me the facts

Let's see the real science, not the "consensus science" or "spiritual science". Neither pay attention to facts or proofs they only pay attention to feelings, emotions, propaganda or spirituality.

In all cases, quit confusing religion for science.

Get a life. Creationism is a faith based belief.
Young Earth theory is just that, a theory, not a fact.
Global warming is a frontal lobotomy of science. There are suppositions, theory, and ideas, but no proof, and science is proof plus general agreement of the scientific community, which is split 50/50 on global warming.
And in case you have not heard, the schools of Great Britain have told those who choose to teach Algore's theories of global warming about the 11 downright lies he tells in his treatise and not teach it as fact.
The U.S. does not lag in science education, by the way. That conclusion has been reached by the UN community and not the scientific community.

Those who deny the reality of the sciences are in denial about the world they live in. They are born, live with, and die duped and living as blind followers of lies. They give their reality away to primitive belief systems that were once used to explain away what was not explainable at the time. These followers are encouraged to continue in their beliefs today because they contribute money to what have now become giant, global religious corporations that make tons of money off their lies.

World hunger and poverty could have been erased by now if it were not for those bottomless money pit organizations sucking the money away from people who need it.

I believe in teaching both theories. Global Climate Change is not connected to the activities of mankind.

There is more evidence pointing to the former than the later. Many scientists have been censored for refuting the junk science of global warming. Many have lost their funding, so others are now silent to avoid this sort of blackmail.
