In other words, how were the problems caused by the Industrial Revolution fixed or cured???

I'll give you one. Young children used to be worked long hours in the mills and factories. Eventually, child labor laws first limited the number of hours they could work, and also the age at which they could start working. Major improvement for a developed country.

Charles Dickens' novels were serialized in the newspaper. They were one of it's most popular features. Most of his stories touched on the residual negative effects of the industrial revolution.
