At the funeral of Julius Caesar, Marc Anthony was reported to have said something like "The evil that men do live after them". Those may have been Anthony's actual words or maybe Shakespeare's. The meaning was clear however and Marc Anthony was making reference that Caesar had moved the political control for the Roman Empire to that of a dictatorship from one of a republican style of government. This action, along with several of Caesars heavy handed actions regarding his enemies or political opponents, created a man who may have been honorable at one point. When the middle of March, 44 B.C. rolled around, the members of the Senate of Rome had concluded that there was no more honor left in this man who had decalred himself 'Emperor for Life' and the whole matter was brought to an end with blood on the Senate floor. Imagine the excitement. I'd give anything to have been there in person. Perhaps I would have had a far different opinion of 'Honor' than we apply today. Maybe I will some day if I can just get this dam time machine adjusted properly.

I just finished learning about Roman Empire and Julius Caesar last Friday, but I'm not great at history subject though...

In my opinion, Julius Caesar was a honorable man. Although being a dictator for life is pretty bad, his good side outweigh a lot more than his bad. He was a very strong military leader, donated things to the poors, etc. (sorry, can't think of more now)

So yeah... Julius Caesar was a very honorable man. Go look up what he did.
