It really depends on what State you're in since the law varies in each State. Better ask your lawyer about it - I'd basically pursue it to teach both of them a lesson - don't get mad, get everything! LOL!

There is a law like this in the following states:
As of 7/2007, these states are: Hawaii, Illinois, Mississippi, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Carolina, South Dakota, and Utah
It is called Alienation of Affection lawsuit and it is one in which a spouse can sue a third party if his or her partner leaves the relationship for another person

It's called alienation of affection. Most states will no longer allow such suits, but it's not a bad idea. Make homewreckers (male or female) think twice before jumping into bed with a married person.

In Chicago.... both the husband and wife were lawyers... the wife cheated... and the husband sued the "other man" for all of the emotional distress. I'm not sure how long ago that was.... but I think it's been within the past few years.

The "other woman" had no contract to maintain fidelity to you......your husband on the other hand took a vow to be faithful.
She might have been a willing participant, but face it the whoring hubby "caused" his own divorce.
