Ultraviolet rays in sunshine have enough energy to break the bond between the two oxygen atoms (O) in normal oxygen molecules (O2), leaving them free to hook up with other oxygen molecules and form ozone (O3), so the first answer is looking good. This happens in the stratosphere, not the mesosphere, so two is out, and so on.
