Look into home school programs! There are many programs where the student only attends class once or twice a week and does all their work on-line or in small groups of other independent students.

There are MANY "hybrid" programs available to kids now days!

I hated high school so much, I took lots of summer school and "bailed out" at the end of my junior year and took my last HS classes at night at the community college and took college classes during the day and those day classes counted for both my high school diploma and college credit.

In Washington State there is a program called Running Start where motivated students can take college classes and double credit toward graduation. Some kids graduate from HS with an AA degree at the same time. If not an AA degree, they have most of the basic college requriements out of the way by the time they're eighteen.

If you think you're not college bound, then Runing Start also has vocational programs.

Look into the alternatives to High School in your community.

To me, back in the seventies high school was this THING standing between me and a real education. I blazed my own trail out, and my grades shot up once I was in college.

Hang in there!

Public school is just as good as private school. Sure, in private school you're more "advanced", but public school is more fun. You're more "loose". Also since you've been in private school then you should be more advanced right? I'm just saying. Enjoy it!

Have you tried enjoying yourself there, rather than simply dismissing it because it's a public school?

Dropping the snobbery will go a long way.
