No, you don't have to, but if you can, it's a good idea. Visiting colleges really helped me get a feel for whether or not I would like it there.

If you don't, you will have no idea if that college is a good fit for you. Just because they have the academics you need isn't enough. The environment has to be a match as well. Visit each you are interested in and get the feel for the campus. Your parents should be involved as well. I had many friends who chose their college without making sure it fit their personal specs and wound up leaving. Do your homework and make sure it's the right environment for you and not just highlighting your major.

Certainly, it would be ideal to for a couple of reasons:

1) you can see if the campus, student body, set-up, etc. seems to be a "fit" with what you want, and

2) the college will know that you are interested enough in them to visit (you will no doubt take a tour, sit in on an information sessions...and let the school know you're there!) I came to learn that not all colleges track who visits them, though. Duke doesn't, for example, but most do.

I read somewhere that if you can afford to visit a school, they pretty much expect you to. If everything on your application is impeccable, I'm sure NOT visiting won't lead to a rejection, but if you're trying to get all positive variables working for you, you should consider it if you can.

No you dont have to but its good to check out the campus and the surroundings. Just in case you do consider that school and you get admitted.

i don't think so, but its a good idea to get a feel for the college, as in what its "really" like there.

You got to. You'll find out if you hate it or not when you go there.
