When a cell becomes specialized, most of its genes are turned off and some genes are turned on. These genes are responsible for the production of special proteins( enzymes) that enable it to perform special function.

a specialized cell is just one that's specific in its function. Specialization ---> the cell starts turning from a stem cell into some special cell, like a liver cell or skin cell.

to do what they need to do. its not that hard. red blood cell, carry oxygen around parts of the body. It's special in its own way by doing a specific job
