Right now I have a 50 gal. tank for my dragon, but I don't really know how to clean the tank, can you please explain?

I have a reptile type carpet but I got it at home depot, as it's the same type of stuff, but I want to switch to tile because the poop stays on the carpet and I know it's not good for them. Which type of tile should I get? Should I buy 1x1 ft pieces and get them cut or what?

How do I clean the tank after I take out the carpet and other stuff? I hear to use hot water and vinger, is that true?

How do I give my dragon a bath if he always tries to jump out of my hands when I'm giving him a bath?

Please help!

I use vinegar and water to clean it. I spray it down, let it soak, then rinse and dry.
Ceramic tile can be cut to fit--you don't want the shiny slippery kind. Get the more natural rough textured stone. I prefer non-adhesive shelf liner because it looks good, is cheap and easy to clean and replace as needed.
As for bathing, use a deep rubbermaid container with enough water to come up to his shoulders. Warm water--not hot. Gently place him in it and let him swim or soak. A small hand towel can be placed in the bottom to provide a grip.

I use newspaper as a substrate. Not attractive by any means, but affordable and easy to clean. As for the tank, I purchase Chlorhexidine solution from my local vet. It comes concentrated and is diluted 1oz- 1 gallon of water. It is very safe (used in the practice and they treat exotics). I usually just bathed mine in my own bathtub with small amount of leukwarm water in it. Just be sure to clean the tub before you get back in.
In retrospect... the other gal's rubbermaid tub idea sounds much easier! I also never thought of putting a towel down for traction... :)

I used to work in an Animal College and we always used diluted Bleach for all the animals -its the only thing that properly stops cross infections, then make sure its completely rinsed clear and air it out for as long as possible. If you've not got your dragon yet then it will be perfect for when he arrives x
