My girl was 6 or 7 when she stopped. I didn't encourage her to believe in Santa Claus as I remember how it felt when I learnt he did not exist, but her grandparents encouraged her to believe.
She learnt it from another relative who cruelly just told her plainly the truth.
Doesn't matter how hard you try you just cannot stop someone else's mouth blurting out something or other.

When my two started first grade the doubts began to set in; By second grade attempts were made at all nighters to see Santa; Third grade peer pressure won out.
In this day and age, Santa has some strong competition.....but I still believe and the kids still look for Santa more like your 14 yr old, fortunately they are in their thirties.

my son was 11 in sixth grade. he was not to mad but had heard the kids at school talk about it in fourth grade. our daughters were great at this time because of the age space..ten years..he is 12 and still beleives but its in a different way. to dream is big to children so let them dream...the show polar express is one of a kind chistmas show.

Well I was 43 but they kept telling me its not true but I still dont believe them.
Kids can be cruel......................
