What is the word for when you go out of the way to be friends with someone?

accommodating, supportive, encouraged, lend a hand, help out, comfort, or take under ones wing.

friendly, amiable, neighborly, sociable, chummy all convey the sense of being friendly. I'm not sure if that's what you're looking for though.
