Almost certainly to be air in the heating circuit, and it needs bled, gurgling sound is the clue, every car has a slightly different way of doing this, but it really means disconnecting the upper heater hose and keeping the radiator filled until there is no more air coming out the hose and reconnecting it quickly, do this with the engine cold or you could be badly scalded.

Check your heater hoses going to your heater core by the firewall. If one is hot and the other is cool your heater is plugged up. This does not mean the heater core needs to be replaced. It may be flushed out and you will get good heat again. This service will need to be done by a qualified shop. Reverse flushing the heater core needs to be flushed with water and air pressure. If both heater hoses are hot it may in the air distribution box which may be a cable or actuator. Unfortunately there is no easy answer, get it checked before the cold weather hits because then its tough to get into a shop. I hope this helps. www.triangleradiator.net

NEVER replace any part till you know the problem. If all hoses are hot, temp says cold, thermostst ok. Need to check thermostst by, cool engine, remove rad. cap, start engine, idle till at operating temp. and look in rad. cap opening and see coolant circulating. Temp gage sending unit proly defective. Not the pump or head gasket. As above, fan working ? If so then vacuum operated door in duct not openimg.

could possibly be the temp. blend door inside the evaporator housing.. this door is actuated by the cold/hot lever in your dash.
