The people who listed Joe Montana, Brett Favre and Randy Moss, I give you the thumbs down. They were all traded, check the facts.
With that said, I would say that Reggie White is perhaps the biggest free agency pickup to date. The reason he went to Green Bay, because God told him to go there. Drew Brees and Kurt Warner (when he joined the Rams) were good pickups as well, but not as big as Reggie White.

I actually just read an article about this last month.
I was thinking Drew Brees to the Saints, but the article suggests Reggie White as #1.
EDIT: Favre was traded, thus not a free agent signing.

i'd say the draft, yet its very close... on offense, 4 out of 11 starters have been drafted (Leonard Weaver and could Heller have been undrafted loose brokers, and Matt Hasselbeck and Deion branch have been obtained by skill of trades; the different 3 have been obtained by using loose enterprise) on protection, 7 out of 11 starters have been drafted (all 4 non-draftees have been FA additions) of expert-bowlers, 3 have been obtained by using loose enterprise/procuring and merchandising (Hasselbeck, Kerney, Peterson) and 3 have been drafted (Jones, Tatupu, Trufant). when you consider that we are talking on the subject of the final 5 years even with the incontrovertible fact that, you're able to point out that Seattle's best participant ever and purely MVP, Shaun Alexander, became right into a fabricated from the draft, even with the incontrovertible fact that he's not with the team. although, Matt Hasselbeck, arguably the "face of the franchise" precise now became right into a fabricated from a commerce (even with the incontrovertible fact that Lofa Tatupu would additionally be pronounced to have that call, and he became into drafted - a circulate many noted as stupid given his low score interior the draft). i think of when you consider that Tim Ruskell took over after 2004, Seattle has been between the terrific communities at recuperating itself the two by skill of the draft and by using loose enterprise.

Well, I would have to say what is it going to be. It would have to be Randy Moss. The guy came from problems in Minnesota to Oakland, where he never got a good foundation with the team and fan base. And then, he gets traded to New England, and right now it looks like he is going to get close to braking the record for most touchdowns in a season.

I believe Favre was traded, so I would have to go with the Rams signing Kurt Warner back in '98 as an undrafted FA.
He hardly played that year, but aftre Trent Green got hurt.......
And if they didnt sign him, who would have steped in after Green got hurt? Would they have done as great a job?
Joe Germanne?
think not.
