During the end of the Roman Republic the conservatives, led by Cicero, Cato and Bibulous, spent more time obstructing the needed reforms desired by Gaius Julius Caesar than they did governing. Their constant barrage of unjustified and unprovable accusations resulted in the complete failure of the Senate to provide decent republican government.

When civil war came, of course they blamed it on Caesar.

In the early 1800s the capital interests acted the same about Thomas Jefferson, Andrew Jackson and Martin Van Buren. The ridiculous slanders they spread about Aaron Burr still sully the name of an early American patriot. How likely was it that a New York lawyer could or would desire to create a monarchy in Missouri?

The most common slander of conservative extremists throughout history is that of empire building and corruption, probably because of the conservative desire to establish exactly such conditions for their own interest group. The unproven accusation remains the most effective weapon of the demagogue.

For years the Republicans controlled the White House, both Houses of Congress and the Judiciary. All these charges have been investigated and sifted with the full power and authority of the United States government, and not one charge has been laid. It is inconceivable that, had Senator Clinton done these things, she would have escaped prosecution.

Two thousand years after Caesars's assassination we still repeat the gay slanders and the accusation of corruption. Two hundred years after the death of Aaron Burr we teach our children the federalist lies as historical fact.

The neoconservatives have the gall to call their think tank the Cato Institute. Cato was an hypocrite who accused Caesar of corrupting the process while he bribed the voters himself, and whose method of debate was to shout down his opponents until the daily Senate session ended. His obdurate stupidity was what forced Gaius Julius to cross the Rubicon, and it was he who forced the end of the Republic by making the Senate too partisan to govern fairly enough to retain the support of the people.

We are on the slippery slope, and it is not Senator Clinton who is pushing us downhill.

Hopefully, we won't have to wait till she's elected! Once the primaries are over, I'm hopeful the GOP will start reeducating and informing voters of the truth about Hellary. They've barely touched the surface on the health care debacle.

I would guess Whitewater, possibly, but there are many other current campaign scandals she is deeply involved in, such as Norman Hsu, the Chinese dishwashers, Media Matters, etc.

If Hillary is elected, she will be our third impeached president.

If Hillary is elected, she won't allow ANY investigations. the nature of the investigations you propose is all the evidence you need that she CAN and WILL prevent any investigation.
