____________________________________. After Patrick tells Mary he is leavign her, she becomes very upset and kills Patrick. This is an example of situational irony. When she goes to the basement to select meat for dinner, she selects a leg of lamb. She doesn't cradle it as she carries it. She carries it as if it were a club, ready to swing. Mary uses the frozen leg, and swings it like a bat and hits him over the head with it and kills him.
