First, My niece got her prom dress stuck on an escalator this past summer. It was an embarassing moment for her because the dress came away from her body. She called me and I took her a Sunday dress because she wanted to enjoy her evening.

Finally, the laces of my shoes got tangled in the Down Escalator at Madison Square Garden just as we were exiting a matinee performance of Ringling Bros. and Barnum&Bailey Circus. It felt like "an eternity" as my sister tried to stop me from being sucked into the metal teeth of the moving escalator while simultaneously protecting me from the log jam of people trying to get over me and out of the building. It was really scary. I don't remember having nightmares about it, nor did it stop me from using escalators, but I do remember my sister pleading frantically with people not to step on me. After we got home, she too told all of her friends to be careful about Earth Shoes and escalators. These experiences stay with you. They do.This traumatic event must be the reason I am super vigilent about laces being tied and won't purchase ugly and trendy shoes. Unless they are these.
