This cold, egocentric, rather stupid woman has no talent whatsoever. She can't act, sing, dance or string two coherent sentences together.
Yet the entire female population of America, and a few effete men, hang on to her every word.
Clearly, these simple souls can't see or don't care that Winfrey, entirely devoid of distinction herself, basks in the glow of the achievements of her guests.
Like far too many figures these days, she is famous merely for being famous and, to people other than Americans, this makes absolutely no sense at all.

and kinda insensitive or have less
compassion. But her guests make
her show interesting.

She's not famous for being famous. She's been around for some time. If you lived in Chicago, you would have seen her start out on the news here, I believe she was elsewhere before that. She is not cold, nor stupid. She speaks eloquently. Whether she can sing or act--most people cannot--who cares. She's generous. She's help catch child predators. She donated much more money to Katrina than any other celeb. She actually donates 50 mil a year to charities. She is entitled to spend her money how she wants...like opening a school. And I think most people are irked because they confuse her black pride for being a racist. I am white stay at home mom, and have experienced her generosity and kindness many times in the last few years. There are so many poor role models out there--it makes no sense to pick on Oprah. Britney, Paris, Lindsey, Britney's sister....pick a newsday. Wasn't there a warrant for a Baldwin? And to be quite honest--"cold, egocentric, rather stupid, has no talent whatsoever, can't act, sing, dance or string two coherent sentences together"--sounds like our president.

Does it matter if we like her? There are enough housewives and others that believe her word is gospel. Now that is a sad state of affairs, isn't it? $102 million plus per year to sit on a couch and have discussions with celebrities and basically just do a more in depth report than the media does on world events? Where do I sign up for a job like that? And I am SO sick and tired of hearing about her humble beginnings. I also would be interested in knowing when she is going to hand over more of her oh so generous charity givings to AMERICA!? Don't get me wrong, I think it's fantastic that she helps at all, (Katrina effort and all)but I believe in cleaning this country up first and that means doing more than hopping on Obama's band wagon and claiming to care. It just seems she cares more about African-American people and African-American issues. It's self interest, I'm well aware, however if a Caucasian tv hostess were to be THAT blatant about it I don't think it would be taken well. Oh well, she's Oprah, and nobody can touch her anyway, right?

And I'm not "sour grapes" at all, and to be frank, that term is getting overused in this forum when it comes to Miss Winfrey. If you think she earns every bit of that 100 million plus per year sitting on a couch while some poor factory worker or ANY person in ANY profession makes a hell of a lot bigger effort (did you see her "try" working the lunch shift at McDonald's one day and she could barely stand the effort involved)and gets paid peanuts compared to her, then I think you need to wake up. She is both overpaid and over-rated. Her opinions are no more important than ours because she is no more than a human being. I used to be a HUGE fan of hers until I started to open up my eyes and see what's really going on.

To make a long story short (too late, I know) I am NOT Oprah's biggest fan.

The tough times she has gone through: being abused by her father, having a tremendous problem in weight and the time when people hated her being on a talk show. When you get to know her, you'll see how much she cares about the world. It's mostly because of her beautiful soul that helps people around the globe and bringing people out of the box.

I like the way she tries to make a positive difference in the world. She has rebuilt homes after the hurricane season of 2004, opened the school for girls, gives to many people.
I respect her ideas and strength. She is a true rags to riches story. It is like she has lived the American dream. My hat is off to her and her efforts.

Sour grapes?
For being stupid and cold and having no talent, she sure knows how to make a buck.
Why are you using your time to bash her? What do you have to gain?

There are other talents then the ones you mentioned.

If you don't "get" her I'm sure she won't be upset or insulted.

She's doing fine.

I like and respect her.
