find the altitude of a triangle
givens: slope of AB = -1/4 angle C = (1, -6)
slope of AC is -5/2 Angle B is (5, 2)
slope of BC is -8/-4 (so its 2) angle A is (-3, 4)

First, you have three altitudes, one from each vertex to the side opposite. To find each, do the following. (AB is an example). The slope of an altitude to this line is [- 1/slope AB] or +4. The altitude has this slope and passed thru (1,-6). So its equation is y = 4x + B. Since -6=4(1)+B, B=-10 and y = 4x - 10.
