No. They are not the same species. If they did mate then their offspring would die. I've heard of a cow mate with a horse before though. The offspring died inside the tummy. Sad.

No, they can't. They are on different branches of the evolutionary tree and don't have enough genetics in common to breed. Birds mate with birds, dogs with dogs, etc. If animals *could* interbreed, you would see all sorts of strange creatures, but you don't. That's a big clue.
