2:07-7minutes = 2 (you still have 37 minutes remaining since you had 44 minutes to start with)

60-37=23

=1:23

44-7 = 37 (first figure how many minutes into the previous hour, because 7 minutes are in the current hour)
60 - 37 = 23 (then take that away for 60 to see how many minutes have passed)

then remember to go back 1 hour to the previous hour
and the solution is 1:23
