you could quite say, that EVERY historical figure was doing wrong when they thought they were doing good..
because for the OTHER side of the story.... the winning side.. they thought that the person was bad.. but of course the losing side obviously thought they were good...

Example:
The South HATED Lincoln.
The North LOVED Lincoln.
LOL!

And those who crucified Jesus. Pontius Pilate for example.

Tony Blair and Margaret Thatcher where two classic examples from Britain: Thatcher sold more or less everything we had to those 5% who holds Britain's largest capital. And Tony Blair admitted he made many serious erros, such as: Iraq war can certainly be counted amongst them.

Not to mention President Bush who hears voices he claims are from God like Joan of Arc did; bless her.

First, it really depends on what your beliefs/morals are.

However, I agree, Hitler is a good example. He thought he could enrich Germany by ridding them of people he thought was making everyone suffer.

Also, Lenin is one you can argue for. His communist beliefs included equal opportunity/rule to everyone, not just the wealthy. However, pure communism only allowed for a temporary dictatorship, and he put himself as the permanent dictator of the USSR.
