the grand prize was $10,000, you won that prize. Would you tell your family and friends that you won $10,000 or would you keep quite about it?

I did enter into a drawing, no I didn't win the money. I was just wondering if you would keep quite about it or tell every body about it.

$10,000 might not be much to some of you, but that is a lot of money to me. Yes I know that is not enough to quit a job over. I wouldn't quit my job if I won a million dollars or any amount of money for that part. I know some of you think I am crazy now, but hey that is just the way I am.

That is a lot of money for a lot of people and I would just keep it quiet. Use it for something I needed or put it away.

Since the $10,000 would become about $7,000 after taxes, I'd keep quiet about it. It's not that much money. And people wouldn't understand why you didn't do with the money what they thought you should do. There's just not enough money to mention. I have fantasized about being able to give my family money if I had won a large amount. But that's not enough to cure any real financial needs.

My husbands the biggest blabber mouth, no way would he be able to keep this a secret.
I have warned him, if we ever win the lottery, I will take his phone away from him until after we have met with an attorney and collected our prize. Of course if it's millions you don't want anyone to know, except a few family members

it's not like $10,000 will make you rich. YOu can't quit your job and it deffinatly is not enough to live on. Why not tell your family, unless you have a bunch of roothless family members there should be no reason to keep it a secret.

Would you want it to be kept from you??

I wouldn't tell a soul. I used to have an Aunt who was always asking me "how much money do you have" and I ignored her too! What you have, and how you obtained it - is your business - and nobody elses.

Oh! the only person you will need to tell is your tax preparer - a win of $10,000 is taxable! CJ

I would buy a car or something I really needed and then say, "Look what I bought with my winnings!"

If it was more like a million or 200 million, that might change my story. I could disappear with 200 Million and pretend I was dead. j/k I would spread it around my family.

:+)

Shout it from the rooftop. How many times do you win anything. I figure in my case, if there were only two lottery tickets, the other person would win. If I didn't have bad luck, I wouldn't have any luck at all.

I would only tell one person and then we would make a beeline for the nearest tropical island for about two weeks of bliss. Or until the money ran out.

An amount that small would go straight to savings. Now a much bigger amount I would have to talk a bit. Oh who am I kidding ,I would talk a lot. LOL

I would tell,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,but I would say it was 5,000. That way I could hoard some of it, And yes, I know that is telling a lie. But I prefer to call it a white lie and I believe white lies are ok. If I tell it...Ha ha
