They are just looking for a warm place to hibernate for the winter. If you vacuum them up, you can release them outdoors where they belong. Make sure they can't get in by cauking all your windows, doors, and other cracks by which they can get inside. They are a valuable predatory beetle that are workhorses for your garden, so you shouldn't destroy them if you can avoid it.

Ladybugs come from outdoors.. their natural food is usually aphids, so they are a 'natural' form of garden pesticide. They tend to swarm. (many are actually imported every year to large nurseries)

They will come into your home through any small cracks. You can try caulking before freezing weather sets in, as part of an annual maintenance program. Once you have freezing weather, you should see much fewer of them infiltrating your home.

You can vacuum them up quite easily with a standard household vacuum, but you should empty the container, or bag immediately, as they can create a bit of a stink, hehe.

Have Fun
