this is what i think:

trade jonathan vilma(hes useless in a 3-4) since they have david harris, to falcons for deangelo hall or new england for asante samuel and give them a 3rd rounder maybe.

maybe trade kellen clemens for a draft pick

sign a great pass rushing D end. (jared allen and justin smith are upcoming free agents)

draft james laurinitus with the possible 4th pick to team up with david harris to be an unstopable force

second round draft a quarterback like colt brennan who might slip to the second round

and maybe get bernard berrian as a 3rd reciever after releasing justin mccariens

do anything they can to sign alan feneca

Jonathan Vilma isnt worth DeAngelo Hall or Asante Samuel, those are the 2 best corners on their respective teams and cannot be replaced very easily. If either team did that, they would instantaneously become one of the worst pass defense teams in the game.

What pick could you get for Kellen Clemens? Im just curious? I would give up abt a 4th rounder for him at best, and thats if im desperate.

I could see signing Jared Allen or Justin Smith being free, but i think the Chiefs/Bengals will make a push to try and get those players signed esp. the Bengals with Smith considering he is abt the only defense they have.

I would keep Vilma with Harris, and draft McFadden. He is an Adrian Peterson type of back, he will translate into NFL success right away.

Brennan will slip to the 2nd, possibly 3rd round, drafting him wouldnt be a bad idea i mean just to see.

Try and get Berrian, i dont think the Bears want him to go b/c he is there only threat at the WR position but you never know what Berrian wants.

Im not a Jets fan, but here is what they need to do. Keep Chad Pennington, let him start, he is better than Clemens and if you work around his abilities you guys could get back to the playoffs (he's done it several times). He is one of the smartest QB's with one of the most accurate arms in the league, but you have to play a slower west coast offense (much like Rich Gannon with the Raiders). Draft McFadden and try and trade Thomas Jones for a pick, WR, or maybe TE. Someone who can catch the ball, a big possession receiver would help, not a deep threat considering Pennington doesnt have an arm. I would try and trade Jones to the Texans for a guy like Owen Daniels (very good TE) and a 3rd round draft pick or so, the Texans need a RB in a BAD way and they arent gonna find their man in the draft so they will be desperate. The defense has alot of upside, except on the line. There isnt much of a pass rush going on, get someone on that line that can pressure the QB. Darrelle Revis is very very good, Kerry Rhodes is very very good, so is Vilma and Harris, and with a line that could at least put a lil pressure on the QB they would be that much better. They arent far away from 10 wins, but they dont need to panic and do anything stupid and they need to realize that they are not an offensive powered team and realize that Clemens is not the starter.

I'm a Cowboy fan but I live in Jersey and mildly root for the Jets. If DMAC falls that low, I'd take him. He would make the offense better right from the start. With an improved O-line and an explosive back, it would be hard for anyone not to load the box against them. It might open up the passing game. If DMac isn't available I'd do something to get more pressure on the QB. Maybe Gohlsten from OSU. I think 10-6 is a bit much. Their QB situation is up in the air, I like Pennington but I'd go with Clemens. His arm is so much better, it can stretch the field.

Nice, but If the Browns sign Derek Anderson, I was saying this all along, they should trade for Brady Quinn. Berrian is a gamebreaker, and along with Coles, could break games wide open.

They need to make a big splash in the free agent market.

Also, They need to draft Laurinitis or McFadden.

Or u can keep Chad, and put some playmakers like McFadden, Coles, and a Barrian type reciever around him.

Alan Fanaca would be a great pickup, but even a rookie would do well.

Sorry I am not a Jets fan. My fiance is though. I have watched many of their games this season because of her.

They need to draft a quarterback high in the draft. Someone who played in a pro style offense in college. Not an option qb or some crap like that. They need to draft offensive linemen also. Maybe a second or third round pick on a good young college standout.

Their defense isn't all that bad. They have had some great games this year. But the offense is horrible.

And they should start thinking of new ways to beat the Patriots. Like every other team in the league needs to do also.

Go Skins.

I think their main concern is whether to trade pennington. Will Clemens actually pan out as their quarterback is what they have to think about. They have a good enough defense. They need a better offensive line and playmakers, thats the difference between the Patriots and the Jets.

Seriously,

Put Chad Peninnigton back into being the QB. He's a lot better than those 2 you have them. He just needs a strong offseason strength and conditioning PROGRAM. He's not being able to do that cause of his off-season surgeries. But now that he's healthy, he could be great QB.

Try to get into the NFC.

*hi-hat*

Seriously, they need to shore up the O-line. I knew this season was going to be a bust when they let Pete Kendall go. Why did they get rid of Mawae the year before too?!?!? They need a better O-line. All great teams have to run and protect the qb. I think Chad should still be the starter, he just needs a better ........... you guessed it .... O-LINE!

- i agree about vilma... i hate to see him go b/c he's fantastic, but he doesn't fit into the 3-4 scheme

- break mccariens legs... i mean cut him (but i'd rather see him in pain)

- as for qb, our position sucks. kellen isn't good enough (may never be) and pennington throws like a girl.

come up with a new name, change uniforms, move somewhere else, draft the entire lsu team to replace present team.

alternative: merge with dolphins and bring in wayne dwyer to rehab them all. or some spiritual leader, i don't know for sure. what a mess. too damn many teams if you think about it.
