It's normal to let the hair grow out. It's kinda hard to shave unless you get your partner to do it.
Remember, women have been doing this for thousands of years, before it was common-place ot shave, and still had normal births with all that hair. Docs find it normal for women to let their pubic hair grow out during pregnancy.
You don't need to shave it either, since if you had a c-section, it's better for the hair to be grown out for the surgery. If they close the incision over a hair follicle (that they won't be able to see if the hair is shaved) then the hair can grow into a very painful and infected ingrown hair that will also need to be surgically removed.

You are normal, don't worry. Lots of women who usually shave down there don't in the late part of pregnancy for the simple reason like you said they can't see it. I am sure your doctor has seen worse always remember that. They will not care about the hair and when you go to deliver they will not shave it for you unless necessary for some reason. If you are really concerned about it get your husband/boyfriend whoever you feel comfortable with to help you trim up some. I promise no doctor is going to look at you funny if you don't. They deliver babies for a living and see it all the time. Best wishes

I am 20 weeks pregnant so I can still see okay. Once I can't I'm gunna keep it trimmed using the mirror and then after the baby is born and they take it away I'm taking a shower to catch up on all the shaving, lol. Don't worry doctors see it all the time, but I know how you feel.

Thats a great question! Haha!
Im the same, i shave, but when i was pregnant it got so hard at the end i gave up! I could NOT let my partner shave me, it was too scary to contemplate!!
Don't be embarrassed to let the doctor see it with hair, they have seen more of you than your pubic hair!!! They can handle it!
I found out i had to have a caesarean a few weeks before i was due, a so I went and got a wax!!! Ouch!
Goodluck with the pregnancy!

You're not weird. Its not necessary to shave a lot of women don't because they can't see, personally still do because its really hot where i live at the moment (i'm in Nth Qld Australia) and i find it irritating when i don't, I find that its easier to use a pair of hair clippers or beard trimmer with a mirror at the moment that way if you miss a spot no one will notice (not that doctors or midwives care). Do what ever makes you feel comfortable.
Good luck with tha rest of your pregnancy

You should watch a birth video. The amount of hair is nothing compared to everything else that is going to be seen by the doctor. I dont shave everything, but I keep everything tidied up,and I did this throughout my pregnancy the first time, and this time, although it gets really hard to see what you're doing without a mirror.

I'm 35 wks pregnant and still shave down below. I use a mirror or shave carefully without one since I can no longer see to shave down there. You can ask your Dr. if you can use Nair. I was using it for a while but I need to ask my Dr. if it is ok to use while pregnant. If you don't want to shave down below, ask your partner or husband to do so.
I'm with you as for going to the Dr or labor with hair down there. I can not stand body hair and I refuse to go into labor with a bush!
Good luck hun!

If you can no longer see, maybe you could look into getting waxed, it may be a more feasible way to feel comfortable. I personally could never stand to have my husband shave me down there. You should do whatever feels most comfortable for you, If you don't want hair there, do whatever you can to make that happen. You need to be as comfortable as possible when you give birth.

Well, one option is to shave with a small hand mirror... that way you can kinda see where you've missed. I shaved before I got pg, and once I couldn't see it anymore, I told my hubby that was it. If he wants it clean, he'll have to get it that way! I still trim every now and then.... keep it neat-looking instead of mangy, but I'm not shaving it until I can SEE it!

I shaved it all off throughout my pregnancy. All i needed was a good razor with a swivel head and a hand mirror!
I usually just felt with my hands to make sure i didn't miss a spot..... don't worry, i wouldn't want to be checked at the doc without shaving either.
