I saw the King at Madison Square Garden in 1973. I was 14. Elvis did not move around much, and did not say much. It was more a matter of being there, just to say you saw Elvis Presley.

I saw Elvis at his last concert.. I think even then, 6 weeks before he died, he was fun to watch.. and great to listen to.. and Im not really that much of an Elvis fan..

Elvis Presley will always be the king. People judged him cruely but did you know that he had cancer and the drugs were taken because he was in so much pain.
I never had the privilege to see him but one day i will go to menthis.

i saw elvis in cincinati with my sister... i think it was 1976. he was in his trademark leather/rhine stone suit. he was way overweight and sweating a lot. he had to stop several times for drinks of water and towels to wipe the sweat off. he forgot the lyrics to some of his songs and had to stop for that too. i was a teen at the time and didn't think he was up to all the hype, but the first several rows on the floor were filled with older and elderly women all done up and screaming like they were teens again. they caught every sweaty towel he threw at them and were swooning to every song.

i didn't get it but the older ladies sure did. seeing ladies, old enough to be my grandma, sporting beehive hairdos and formal gowns running for the stage was worth every penny i paid for my ticket.
