I have just tried to load Win Xp on a new hard drive. It goes through all the usual stuff; F6, Press 'S' then loads the additional drivers from the A drive.
Windows starts to load and looks OK it gets down to what must be the final restart, goes throught the POST ok, onto the MS XP window loading screen then comes up with a blue screen saying....
Technical Information ***STOP: 0X0000007B ()XF789E63C, 0XC0000034, 0X00000000, 0X00000000)
What exactly does this mean?
I've tried the MS website but don't seem to get much luck there!

I think I've been loading the correct drivers, I got them from the motherboard website. (Just a thought: Is it the motherboard or Hard Drive drivers I should be adding?)

I'm going out my mind.
Can anyone help?
Thanx in advance

This is a driver issue, I have experianced it a few times when installing Windows. I know you have checked for the most recent drivers, and you may well have them, but there is a particular method for installing them. If you don't do it exactly correct, you get this error. Instead of my trying to give you step by step instructions, here is the related KB article on this issue, you can get this error message on a current installed OS, and while installing the OS:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/324103

Try a thumb drive instead of a floppy.

I hope this helps get it straightend out for you, good luck and much success installing the OS. Please have a nice evening.

Judging by this article in the MS KB,

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/324103

it sounds as though the SATA driver you're using is either incorrect, or possibly corrupt. This can be a problem with floppy disks, you may want to try a different disk and download a fresh copy of the driver.

You have disc errors. You'll need to boot up in safe mode and run a disc check. Your better off just reinstalling the operating system. Or hit restore.
