I like both dogs and cats, but I have a cat because they require less upkeep and attention.
I'm in school, and work full time, and would feel bad leaving a dog home alone, and would have problems getting them outside to go to the bathroom.
Cats are more self-reliant, and use litter boxes, so they just make more sense for me to have as pets at this point in my life.

I would prefer a dog, I think....but my opinion on this subject has probably been influenced by spending a summer a few years ago with cats climbing all over me in the middle of the night every night! lol
They were not my cats....they belonged to a cousin of mine.

I love dogs but hate the work so I'd have to go with cats. Cats are pretty self sufficient.

DOGDOGDOGDOGDOG!!! I have Australian Shepherds and they are the most awesomest (I know, I know, it's not a word. Someday, I will make my own dictionary! MUAHAHAHA!) animals I have ever had the pleasure of meeting (Yay Ozzie and Diggie!). I also do a dog sport (dog agility) with them. How many cat sports are there? EXACTLY!
