it doesn't matter how long you've been in "the business" your agent can help you find more auditions and be more successful. I found my agent through a friend, you should ask around if any one you know has an agent.

If you are a young teen, your parents are going to have to find an agent for you, that is a Talent Agent, not an acting agent. You cannot sign a contract until you are 18. There is no minimum time it takes to qualify for an agent. It takes a strong resume of experience and training and a special look to interest an agent.

If you are making $$$ that's usually enough.

A real agent can double your income for only a 10% take.

Real agents are registered under the licensing for Employment Agencies in your area.
