I'm feeling increasingly claustrophobic in the UK nowadays, considering we've got more CCTV in this country than anywhere else in the world. The government has openly admitted recording EVERY conversation we have, in order to pinpoint where we are 24/7.
I can't smoke, drink, do this, say that.

the public didn't want this, as much as we didn't want smoking/drinking bans or to go to Iraq. We don't want the I.D cards that is a step away from branding us like cattle.
It's government & media - too powerful an influence and it's everywhere.
